AI & Machine Learning Engineer

Pildo Labs is looking for an AI & Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Barcelona.
We are an engineering company specialised in the development and implementation of advanced technologies for the aerospace sector. Our activities combine aerospace engineering, satellite navigation, software development, data analysis, and research projects.

We are looking for a professional with approximately 3–5 years of experience who can contribute to the development of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies within aeronautical products and publicly funded R&D projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will participate in the design, development, integration, and validation of AI and Machine Learning solutions for the optimization of airport and aircraft operations.

The role combines two main areas of responsibility:

  • Developing AI and Machine Learning technologies within R&D projects.
  • Designing and implementing internal AI-based tools to aeronautical application and business processes.

The candidate will work closely with aerospace engineers, software developers, clients, research organisations and international project partners.

We are looking for a hands-on professional who is comfortable working across data analysis, Machine Learning development, software integration, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities
  • AI and Machine Learning Development: Design, train, evaluate, and improve Machine Learning models for aerospace, engineering, and data-driven applications.
  • Technical Development: Contribute directly to the implementation of web prototypes, proof-of-concept systems, and production-oriented AI solutions.
  • Internal AI Tools: Identify opportunities and develop AI-powered tools to improve internal workflows, engineering activities, document processing, data analysis, and decision-making.
  • Data Engineering: Collect, clean, structure, process, and analyse datasets from multiple sources for model training, validation, and operational use.
  • Software Integration: Integrate AI and Machine Learning components into existing web platforms and engineering tools.
  • Model Validation: Define evaluation methodologies, performance metrics, and validation processes to assess the reliability and effectiveness of AI solutions.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, system architecture documents, project deliverables, validation reports, and supporting documentation.
  • R&D Activities: Participate in publicly funded research and innovation projects, contributing to technical tasks, milestones, deliverables, and project reviews.
  • Technology Assessment: Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, models, and tools, identifying those that can provide practical value to the company and its projects.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data science, or software development.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Practical experience developing Machine Learning models using libraries and frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, or equivalent technologies.
  • Good understanding of the Machine Learning lifecycle, including data preparation, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience developing software prototypes or production-oriented applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage several technical activities simultaneously.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.
