PILDO LABS JOINS THE ASUMO PROJECT CONSORTIUM

Pildo Labs announces its participation in the ASUMO Project – Architecture for Autonomy and Situational Awareness for UAS and Air Mobility – a collaborative initiative aimed at researching the autonomous flight capabilities required for an autonomous, efficient, and flexible logistics ecosystem. This ecosystem will support the operation of both cargo and passenger drones, while ensuring compatibility with safe flight operations and airspace management.

ASUMO will deliver a system architecture for autonomy and technological building blocks for situational awareness. The project will also investigate the development of autonomous flight procedures adaptable to different aerial vehicle configurations, enabling optimization in terms of noise minimization and energy efficiency. These solutions are designed to be scalable and transferable across a wide range of aerial vehicle concepts, for both cargo and passenger applications.

Within the project, Pildo Labs will contribute by researching approaches for the integration of eVTOL operations into today’s airspace, supporting the transition towards safe and operationally viable autonomous air mobility.

The consortium developing the ASUMO project is composed of AIRBUS DEFENCE AND SPACE, ADVANCED RADAR TECHNOLOGIES, BEAMAGINE, and PILDO LABS.

This project has been funded by CDTI, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, under file number MIG-20241006, through the 2024 call of the Science and Innovation Missions Program, within the Technology Transfer and Collaboration Program of the 2024–2027 State Plan for Scientific, Technical, and Innovation Research, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
